Comment Responses

Man, what a cop out for a post…but hey, I said I’d do it. I’d gotten tons of great comments lately, and figured I respond in an open forum, rather than click the handy “comment back” button.

So, in reverse order (working from oldest to newest):

Katie, you’re so right. But in the arts, as you well know, supply far outstrips demand, and terms of those who are willing. People somehow don’t seem to grasp that quality takes time AND money. And as my career progresses, I am increasingly careful of how I manage both.

Cousin Pat and Bethie, I’m not sure age has anything to do with drunk and stupid (Well, not OLD age, anyway). At least we know the party was great…drunken injuries and everything! Go Becca and Jacob!

Bethie…the tale of the poor kid left out tons of details. You make good points, and they made me feel better…but consider: I had only worked with the little girl once (that day) and known the mother for about 30 seconds. But thanks for the kind words of support. I’m getting around to adding you to our blog roll…love your stuff!

Mom, I think the more interesting thing is that in very typical male fashion, I had no idea which hand my WIFE wrote with until after we were married. If I find out she stashes bodies in our closet, is not guilty by reason of being really, really dumb an actual legal defense (rhetorical question. Hint: no)? Also, I find it interesting that you and my brother in law share a birthday.

Guitar player: Thanks for what?

Bottomnote: I have mad research skills (part of the day job and part of the education I’ll pay off until I’m 65), and I could find nothing out about your basses. Knowing a bit about South America, and Brazil in particular, I’d say the moral is if you see something you dig, better jump on it, especially if it not mainstream. I’ve had the same problems with gear before, so I feel you.

Corwyn (aka THE MAN HIMSELF!), I have to say, your overall bad-ass quotient will go up exponentially when you see the Light and make the Switch. I don’t recommend Macs for everyone, only those who like computers that…well…work. And I’ve heard mad RAVES about the Duet, and I can also say Logic Studio is AMAZING. Come on over to the Dark side…plenty of room over here!

PS-I’m really not that big of Mac snob, joking aside. But I’ve never been happier with a computer, personally. For music, they are simply untouchable.
